  6.           About WinCharging
  7.  
  8. Thank you trying WinCharging.  It's the newest and best way 
  9. credit card users can manage their charge accounts.
  10.  
  11. WinCharging v/1.0 received a Four-Star rating from Ziff-
  12. Davis, the parent company of PC Magazine.  That version was
  13. also a finalist in the 1995 Shareware Awards contest.
  14.  
  15. Version 1.1 also holds a Four-Star rating.  One Ziff-Davis
  16. reviewer reported that "WinCharging is a sophisticated 
  17. credit card management system", and that it's "a strong 
  18. tool for detail-oriented people."
  19.  
  20. This version (1.2) is even better.  Its .EXE is 35,000 
  21. bytes smaller than the .EXE of the original release.  
  22. It's faster, does more, and is easier to use.  And there
  23. are still more reasons to buy WinCharging ...
  24.  
  25. As you may know, WinCharging can do a lot more than simply 
  26. monitor credit card expenditures.  If you use credit cards 
  27. to earn car rebates or money back, WinCharging can help you
  28. earn more.  When you've reached the maximum rebate on one
  29. card, WinCharging warns you so you can switch to another
  30. income-producing card.

  32. With mail theft on the rise (especially of account numbers),
  33. it is imperative to know exactly what you're paying for.
  34. WinCharging helps you keep track of each and every one of
  35. your charges.

  37. You can also use WinCharging to tell you when you've reached 
  38. your cards' credit limits.

  42.            Shareware Edition
  43.  
  44. The license you agree to by evaluating WinCharging allows
  45. you to test it without charge for 60 days.  After that
  46. period, you will not be able to create new records.  You 
  47. can, however, continue to access your existing records.

  49. The shareware edition of WinCharging is a full-featured, 
  50. fully functional program.  It is identical to the 
  51. standard edition except for the shareware reminder screen 
  52. you see when you start the program that displays the number 
  53. of days remaining of your evaluation period.

  57.               INSTALLATION
  58.  
  59. To ensure a perfect installation, make sure all of the 
  60. files listed in CONTENTS.TXT appear on your shareware 
  61. distribution floppy disk.  If any are missing, contact 
  62. your shareware distributor immediately.
  63.  
  64. If you downloaded WinCharging's ZIP file and expanded it 
  65. on your hard disk, make sure all of the files are present.
  66. You can then copy them to a floppy disk to create an 
  67. installation disk or simply install WinCharging from 
  68. that directory (which is considerably faster).

  70. To install, start Windows.  Open the File Menu and click 
  71. Run.  Put the installation disk in your a: drive and enter 
  72. A:SETUP on Run's command line.  If you put the disk in 
  73. your b: drive, enter B:SETUP.  If you're installing from
  74. a directory on your hard drive, enter the full path plus 
  75. SETUP (for example: C:\TEMPDIR\SETUP).

  77. The installation procedure checks to ensure you have 
  78. Windows 3.1 or 3.11 and that your system meets certain 
  79. other requirements.  If all is in order, it displays the
  80. default directory for WinCharging's files.

  82. You can put WinCharging's files in any directory you wish,
  83. but as with any other major program, the files should be 
  84. placed in their own directory, and that directory should be
  85. right off the root directory for optimum efficiency 
  86. (e.g., C:\WINCHARG).

  90.             GETTING STARTED
  91.  
  92. WinCharging comes with a special online Help file called 
  93. MeFirst!.  It's easy to read and comes with loads of 
  94. graphics to simplify the setup process.  When you start 
  95. WinCharging the first time, it asks you if you would like
  96. to see MeFirst!.  Reply yes.

  98. With both WinCharging and MeFirst! open, you can simply
  99. <Alt>+<Tab> back and forth, first reading MeFirst! about 
  100. how to do something, then switching back to WinCharging
  101. to actually do it.

  103. When you no longer need MeFirst! you can delete it by 
  104. simply selecting a command found on the File Menu.

  108.            ORDERING WINCHARGING

  110. WinCharging comes in two editions:  standard and deluxe.
  111.  
  112. The deluxe edition allows you to have any number of 
  113. userfiles, each capable of handling up to twelve credit 
  114. card accounts; permits password protection and file 
  115. encryption; and comes with the AutoLoad Override.
  116.  
  117. The standard edition is the same as the shareware edition,
  118. but without the reminder screen.  It manages a single
  119. userfile and a maximum of four credit card accounts.  It 
  120. comes with no password protection or file encryption and
  121. does not come with the AutoLoad Override capability.
  122.

  124. file for WinCharging and search on "deluxe edition".

  126. CREDIT CARD ORDERS

  128. Public (software) Library (PsL) handles ALL credit card 
  129. orders for My Little Realm Enterprises.  If you wish to

  192. the edit mode for either of these forms and then clicked the
  193. scrollbar, the edit field remained on the screen.  Clicking
  194. the scrollbar now ends the edit mode without saving any
  195. changes.

  197. PDM Accounts:  Changing a PDM record's amount in Grid Work 
  198. would, when the record amount was greater than the account's
  199. total outstanding amount, incorrectly calculate the result.
